Program Description:
Seattle University established its pioneering master of software engineering program in 1979, and awarded the world's first MSE degree in 1982. Although not required, many MSE students have bachelor's degrees in computer science. Our graduates enjoy the financial rewards, heightened responsibilities, and enhanced job challenges that accompany and MSE degree. The program builds on the software development and maintenance experience of working professionals. It covers the entire software development process; requirements definition, system analysis and design, implementation, validation, and delivery of the final system. The curriculum balances a core of technical and managerial courses with a wide variety of electives to address areas of personal interest. The faculty has extensive industrial experience as well as strong academic credentials, and our curriculum has been shaped by close contacts with local industry.
