Program Description:

SVA's MFA in Photography and Related Media curriculum breaks with the conventional approaches to teaching photography in the academy and is, instead, responsive to the cross currents of cultural and information exchange. This program will address the students' specific photographic search within the fine arts with personal attention. The graduate program recognizes the crossover of influences in photography as well as the vibrant exchange and interchange of painting, sculpture, and the performing arts. Students are encouraged to view photography not as an isolated medium, but as an integrated one.
