Program Description:
The LIOS Psychology Master’s degree is a dynamic, experience-based training program that blends theory with practice. With an emphasis on Applied Behavioral Science and Family Systems Theory, students are taught the specific competencies of the psychotherapist.
• Two year program
• Students attend residential conferences in Seattle (7 each year plus 4 mini conferences in the first year)
• Cohort learning community with a self-contained curriculum.
• Meets requirements for licensure (LMHC or LMFT) in the state of Washington.
With a Master of Arts degree in Psychology/Systems Counseling from LIOS Graduate College, you will enter the workforce with a deep understanding of self, strong theoretical skills, group development skills and effective leadership. LIOS is the school of choice for those who believe that effective counseling is enhanced by self-knowledge and the use of self within the therapeutic setting. Throughout the two-year program, you will be introduced to subjects critical to understanding human behavior. Human Development, Sexuality, and Assessment and Diagnosis are just some of the courses that help you become a systems counselor/psychotherapist. As a graduate of this program, you will be a counselor sensitive to client needs, family systems, and cultural/societal dynamics, and you will be equipped to work in a wide variety of professional venues.
