Program Description:

The first accredited graduate degrees in mind-body medicine, Saybrook's programs are intellectually challenging, powerfully practical, and personally and socially transformative. PhD students specialize in practice, research, or healthcare systems.
Our programs imbue students with a new, more effective, and more satisfying model of healthcare in which they will work with others as actively engaged partners. We enable our graduates to help their own patients and clients and enable our students to be active participants in their own health and to understand that everyone has the capacity for self-healing.
Our programs integrate coursework across a variety of topics and disciplines to enable students to enhance professional development and public service in medicine and nursing, psychotherapy and coaching, community health management and administration, and the complementary and alternative healing fields.
Our programs connect you directly with leaders in the field and provide intensive training in tested and proven approaches and techniques in evidence-based mind-body medicine and nutrition. Students in our programs will learn how to apply these approaches and techniques in their own life and practice. Our faculty works closely with students to develop programs that best meet the needs in their communities and institutions.
Our degree programs have at their core in-person trainings offered by The Center for Mind-Body Medicine. They also offer core skills training in biofeedback and hypnosis. These training programs have received recogni¬tion and endorsement from the national certification organizations in each field: the Biofeedback Certification Institute of America (BCIA) and the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH).
