Program Description:
Research facilities provided by the Department of Sociology include a well-equipped Social Science Research Laboratory for use by the faculty and graduate students. Faculty in the Department of Sociology are involved in a wide range of research activities.
SDSU offers a Masters in Sociology two-year program. The program has a 10 course requirement along with completion of either a thesis or comprehensive exam. We also offer a variety of reserach and teaching assistantships for the majority of the students who seek such options.
Faculty areas of interest include: gender, race, class, immigration, labor, criminology, border issues, family, health, disability studies, culture studies and globalization.
