Program Information

Degree Offered

M.S. - Criminal Justice Leadership & Management; M.S. in Criminal Justice Leadership and Management - Military Only

Program Description:

The Master of Science in Criminal Justice Leadership and Management is designed to provide easy access to high-quality graduate education and professional development for criminal justice professionals. The College of Criminal Justice is one of the nation’s largest academic programs in the field with a national and international reputation for excellence. We are proud of our reputation for quality, and we bring that commitment to quality to our online master’s program for practitioners.

The online format allows students to enroll in two 7-½ week courses per semester. This enables them to complete the program in two years from home or wherever they have access to the internet. The program also uses a student-friendly course delivery and learning platform that includes access to technical support 24-hours a day, each and every day of the week.

The Master of Science in Criminal Justice Leadership and Management for Military Police is specially designed to meet the needs of active duty service personnel who desire to obtain a quality graduate degree from the highly respected SHSU College of Criminal Justice. While the program parallels the generic Leadership and Management degree requirements, special sections of certain courses are designed to meet the unique needs of military police responsibilities. For example, the course Building Democratic Justice Systems Abroad operationalizes DoD Directive 3000.05 pertaining to establishing civil authority and stability in the wake of combat action. In addition, six credits are awarded for completed military leadership preparation, e.g., the Army’s Captain’s Career Course.
