MPH-Biosecurity & Disaster Preparedness,

Format: Campus, Online

Program Description:

The MPH with a concentration in Biosecurity & Disaster Preparedness is designed to provide professional training and management preparation to meet the needs of a wide variety of healthcare and security professionals interested in this expanding field. Public health professionals, physicians, nurses, emergency management professionals, and corporate security managers will be armed with the necessary tools to prepare for and respond to natural and terrorist threats. The broad competencies you'll also master from an MPH include skills, knowledge and abilities in all the disciplines of public health including biostatistics, behavioral science/health education, epidemiology, environmental/ occupational health, public health administration/policy, and more.

The MPH in Biosecurity & Disaster Preparedness may be completed entirely online, or some of the courses may be completed in the traditional classroom format here on the SLU campus. As the core MPH courses will be offered in both distance and traditional format, students may choose which format best suits their needs and interests.
This distance-based aspect of the MPH program is unique, and makes it ideal for working professionals, both national and international, who would otherwise be unable to complete this degree. The program utilizes a blend of teaching tools, including traditional texts, journal articles, threaded discussions, DVDs and streaming video to present material. Saint Louis University is implementing a proven successful online strategy to engage learners, increase collaborative work efforts, and serve diverse student populations.

Saint Louis University School of Public Health has received the maximum full accreditation by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH), a private, non-profit agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education to accredit schools of public health.
