Program Information
Degree Offered
Ed.D.
Program Description:
Constructivism recognizes that learners are active agents, not passive receptacles. In the Interdisciplinary Doctor of Education Program, professionally mature students combine an interdisciplinary theoretical foundation, field based experience and personal knowledge to begin a life-long process of self-definition as school leaders. And because administrators need not only skills, but a foundational philosophy, the program works to foster ethical reflection. To that end, students reflect upon systemic issues and education policy as well as the exigencies of local practice. Each course, therefore, will contain a service learning component.
