Program Description:
Saint Joseph College's Master of Arts in School Counseling is designed to facilitate self-understanding and development through individual and small group activities across a variety of educational domains pertaining to counseling practice. The Master's program is accredited by the Connecticut State Department of Education. Upon completionof the 54 credit program (including a passing grade on the Comprehensive Examination), students will be eligible for certification in the state of Connecticut as a Professional Counselor.
Students demonstrate knowledge and skill in the following key areas: foundations of school counseling; coordinating a counseling service; the practice of school counseling, including the development, implementaiton, evaluation , and consultation of a guidance program.
Small classes allow faculty and students to work together so that students receive peronalized attention. Financial aid is available.
