Program Description:

Our program at Rutgers is exciting and dynamic. One strength of the program is its focus on research, teaching, and training programs in the study of the evolution of human behavior. In areas such as Human Ecology, Medical Anthropology, and Economic Anthropology the department has strong inter-departmental strengths. "Anthropology of Gender" with an emphasis on sexuality, reproduction and the body is another area of focus in the department. Area Specialties include Caribbean, Central American, Southeast Asian, Australian, European, African and Melansia focuses.
