Program Description:

The Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP Nurse Practitioner (ACCNP) program prepares experienced nurses to provide comprehensive, direct patient care and patient/case management to adults and older adults in critical and acute care settings.

In the Family NP (FNP) program emphasis is placed on assessment, maintenance, prevention and/or identification of health problems and the management of common acute and chronic disorders across the lifespan.

The Nurse Anesthesia program prepares the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to possess advanced skills in the provision of anesthesia, development of an anesthetic plan of care and evaluation of post-operative patient needs. One year of recent critical care experience with adults is required to be considered for admission to the program.

The Pediatric (PNP) program prepares graduates in the care of children from infancy through adolescence. PNPs collaborate with other health care professionals in providing health care services for children in pediatric health care/medical homes, schools, hospitals, and other primary care focused settings.

Some NP program options may be completed as Post-Graduate Certificates.

The Rush University College of Nursing was re-accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) in 2009. The College was accredited for ten years through 2019, the maximum granted by CCNE.
