Program Information

Degree Offered

M.A. in Publishing

Format: Campus, Online

Program Description:

Publishers Weekly's Gabe Habash featured Rosemont 's master's program with five others in his recent article, Earning More Than an ‘A’: Master's Programs Fill the Needs for a More Complex Industry. Rosemont is teaching the fundamentals of publishing as the foundation of a solid education, but our program offers in-depth insight in digital publishing, entrepreneurialism, sales and marketing, and print and electronic production and design.

Our faculty members have the practical, hands-on expertise you need in order to gain a competitive edge in your chosen career. As a student, you will enjoy the opportunity to study your craft with published authors and experts in the publishing industry. You will expand the boundaries of your talent in workshops and seminars, experience new techniques and points of view, discover the rich traditions of world literature, and gain invaluable insights into the dynamics of creative self-expression.

You will be able to take advantage of the program's close affiliation with Rosemont's graduate programs in creative writing and business where you can take elective courses. We understand that you are a busy adult with many other commitments in your life, so we keep our course scheduling as flexible as possible. We meet in the evenings and on weekends throughout the calendar year. Our classes are small and our approach is personal.

You'll discover that we offer a number of program options. You may choose to earn your M.A. in Publishing with a concentration in:

Editing,
Production and Design,
Marketing and Sales, or
ePublishing.

Program graduates have been highly successful in obtaining and advancing their careers in all aspects of the creative enterprise; as editors, proofreaders, columnists, agents, managers, production managers, designers, sales representatives, writers, teachers, and marketing directors.
