Program Description:
Studies in Historic Preservation allow students to acquire a strong background in history, architectural styles, research methods and techniques, and preservation philosophy. Programs emphasize the application of materials conservation and preservation planning theory to practical, field-based preservation problems. All students gain professional experience and hands-on training through required internships and group projects. Students also spend a semester in recommended Study Abroad. The Historic Preservation major provides study in all the areas of academic preparation contained in the "Standards for Undergraduate Programs" adopted by the National Council for Preservation Education.
