Program Description:

Diagnostic Ultrasound is a rapidly developing non-invasive imaging modality which is readily available as a first line investigation for renal, biliary and gynaecological disease. It plays a leading role in the management of pregnancy and is increasingly being used in the investigation of vascular disease following the development of Doppler and Colour Flow Technology. The course is designed to meet the needs of practitioners in the various specialities of medical ultrasound, and their employers. The course has been responsive to comments from employers and students and is now offered as a revised delivery package with extensive use being made of distance learning materials, telephone tutorials, clinical visits and study weekends. This gives the course increased flexibility, increases student-centred learning and reduces the hidden costs of time away from the workplace.
