Program Description:
The Department of Graduate Education, Leadership, and Counseling strives to provide quality programs with personal attention. We offer a variety of degree and certification programs in both education and human services. In education, we offer Ed.S. degrees in Counseling and School Psychology, M. A. degrees in School Counseling, Curriculum Instruction and Supervision, Educational Administration, Reading and Special Education, and a Master of Arts in Teaching degree. In human services we offer M.A. degrees in Community Counseling and Organizational Leadership. We offer certification programs in the above areas of education. In addition, we offer Graduate Level Teacher Certification, English as a Second Language Endorsement, Preschool through Grade 3 certification and endorsement and Teacher-Coordinator of Cooperative Vocational-Technical certification.
Accreditation:
The University is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and holds specialized accreditation with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM), the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP), and the National Accreditation of School Psychologists (NASP). Rider is also on the approved list of the American Association of University Women and the American Chemical Society.
