Program Description:
Technical communication students at Rensselaer Gain design skills that resist obsolescence and the capacity to generate content for several electronically-based communication media. In addition to the core curriculum, certificates in Graphics and in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) are available. Whether producing Web pages, multimedia tutorials, electronic wizards, or online help systems. graduates of the M.S. program enter sustained careers in industry. Students learn to: Integrate visual information into a written text; Design documents, websites, and on-line help systems that both novices and experts can use;Create multimedia programs; Design meaningful hypermedia programs;Gain a strong background in communication and rhetorical theory; Hone composition skills;Broaden computer skills in Rensselaer's extensive computer facilities; Receive assistance in career planning; Meet potential employers while in school; Combine professional work experience with taking classes
