Program Description:

Fields of specialization include: cultural sociology and the sociology of religion; demography; comparative and regional studies, emphasizing East Asia, Russia, Latin America, and the Near East; social differentiation and inequality, including gender, race, and ethnicity and poverty; formal organizations; political and economic sociology. Special emphasis is given to comparative, developmental, and social policy perspectives.
