Program Description:
The 45 credit M.A. in English is designed for students who are prepared to undertake advanced work in the field. The program provides a range of courses in literature in English, including British and American literature; creative writing, professional writing, composition, and rhetorical theory; and literary history, theory, and critical methods. The 48 credit M.A./M.S. in Writing offers study in Fiction, Creative Non Fiction, Poetry, Technical Writing and our new Publishing Program/Press. The motives and destinations of the students in the program vary. Some go on to doctoral study in English, others to teach in high schools or community colleges, still others pursue the degree for their own interest and enrichment.
