Cybersecurity
Format: Campus
Program Description:
With the vast amount of sensitive data now stored in the digital universe — everything from social security numbers to financial records and matters of national security — it’s critical that we secure and protect it from malicious interests. For vital computer networks and electronic infrastructures, cybersecurity experts stand as the last and most effective line of defense against such attacks.
At NYU-Poly, our MS in Cybersecurity program molds these experts, who safeguard the information of individuals, businesses, and government organizations. Our curriculum is rooted in the belief that theory and research must translate into real-world solutions.
To this end, we operate the National Science Foundation-funded Information Systems and Internet Security (ISIS) laboratory. In addition to being the nerve center of our research, ISIS acts as a forum for the exchange of ideas between our students and others interested in cybersecurity. We’ve also built a remotely accessible and virtual laboratory called VITAL, which serves as a shared, central facility for a consortium of universities in New York City.
NYU-Poly has a distinguished history of research and education in the field of cybersecurity. We’ve been designated an NSA Center of Excellence in Information Assurance, as well as a Center of Excellence in Research. Our curriculum meets the National Training Standards set by the Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS).
