Program Description:
The Master of Education Program Leading to Secondary Certification is designed for students who hold a baccalaureate in the content area or related field and seek initial secondary certification (grades 7-12) in one of the following areas: Biology, Citizenship, Communications, English, or Mathematics. The program delivers a solid theoretical framework based on current educational field research, with extensive opportunities for direct classroom applications which address the challenges and opportunities faced by current educators. Courses will respond to the need of adult learners and will be delivered in a variety of formats, i.e., traditional, online, and blended approaches.

Eligibility Requirements:
• Candidates must hold a baccalaureate degree in the content area or related field for their area of certification
• Candidates must, prior to admission, pass both the Pre-Professional Praxis and Content Area Praxis examinations required by the PA Department of Educations
• Candidates must satisfy additional certification requirements, including documentation of clearances and observation hours
