Program Description:

Plymouth State University's Master of Science in Environmental Science and Policy degree program is an interdisciplinary, field-based applied research program that will prepare you for a career as a scientist or research manager in agencies, non-profit organizations, consulting firms, government, and academia.
Plymouth State's renown Center for the Environment works closely with Environmental Science and Policy graduate students, establishing partnerships with on- and off-campus areas of study such as the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest, a premier ecosystem science watershed program.
Your curriculum is highly individualized. You'll work closely with your academic advisor to select coursework and research that meets your personal and professional goals and interests. The degree requires a minimum of 30 credits with six credits for a thesis or research project and six credits of fieldwork. Your program of study will include at least once course in the following four areas: social science, communications, terrestrial science, and aquatic science. All students are required to take the Environmental Science Colloquium.

International Student Requirements:

International Environmental Science and Policy students must have proof of English level proficiency through either the TOEFL, IELTS, or ELS Level 112 scores. In addition, you must provide an I-134 Affidavit of Financial Support Form. Documents, including bank statements and other financial documents dated within the past 30 days, that confirm you have the financial resources to study for a year at Plymouth State must be submitted to the College of Graduate Studies. You must also include a copy of your valid passport with your application materials. Finally, you must also submit official, notarized transcripts, verifying that you've completed at least a baccalaureate degree, which must be translated into English and evaluated for institutional equivalency.
