Master of Education in K-12 Education, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Certification, K-12 TESOL Certification
Format: Campus
Program Description:
Plymouth State University's Master of Education in K-12 Education with certification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) will prepare you for a successful career as an ELL (English Language Learners) teacher in New Hampshire, across the United States, or abroad. Through this experiential and hands-on program, you'll gain a complete foundation in language teaching methodologies, language assessment, literacy, language acquisition, and linguistics.
Your curriculum will consist of three core courses required of every PSU Master of Education candidate; seven courses focusing directly on language, linguistics, and instruction; and a capstone component that comes at the culmination of your studies in which you'll put theory into practice with either a TESOL practicum or teacher education internship experience.
Within New Hampshire, the United States, and the world, the need for teachers trained in TESOL and individuals confident in working with students whose primary language is not English is growing. Through your studies at Plymouth State, you'll be able to contribute to this developing educational need.
