Program Description:
Plymouth State University's Master of Education degree in Counselor Education, School Psychology concentration will prepare you for a successful career as a state-certified school psychologist. This program emphasizes skills training necessary to assist children who are experiencing social, emotional, and academic issues. Careers in school psychology include positions in elementary or secondary schools, clinics, universities, or open doors to consulting opportunities.
As a school psychology student, you'll not only learn to promote the development of children in direct ways, but also come to understand how to initiate systematic change, especially as it relates to the formation of environments that provide physical and psychological safety.
This 69-credit master's program consists of a core of foundation counseling courses, a series of professional courses, two practica experiences, and a 1,200 hour internship with a full-time school psychologist. This program leads to certification by the National School Psychology Certification Board and is also approved the the New Hampshire Department of Education.

Eligibility Requirements:
Admission to Plymouth State University's Master of Education programs requires either the GRE or, the preferred option by many students, the Miller Analogies Test (MAT).
Also, for Counselor Education programs, an admissions group interview is required.
International Student Requirements:
International Counselor Education students must have proof of English level proficiency through either the TOEFL, IELTS, or ELS Level 112 scores.
In addition, you must provide an I-134 Affidavit of Financial Support Form. Documents, including bank statements and other financial documents dated within the past 30 days, that confirm you have the financial resources to study for a year at Plymouth State must be submitted to the College of Graduate Studies.
You must also include a copy of your valid passport with your application materials.
Finally, you must also submit official, notarized transcripts, verifying that you've completed at least a baccalaureate degree, which must be translated into English and evaluated for institutional equivalency.
