Program Description:

Plymouth State University's Master of Arts in Teaching, Science Education program is designed for individuals with a science background who are seeking certification as an educator. If you already hold science teaching certification, PSU also offers a Master of Science in Science Education program that will meet your higher education goals.
In your studies, you'll learn innovative teaching methods for the classroom, laboratory, and field, as well as authentic assessment strategies. Your curriculum will consist of required education classes, a supervised teaching internship, a field experience, and additional individualized science content courses. To make full use of Plymouth's research facilities, most courses for the science education program are held on campus.

This program is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) as well as the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).

Eligibility Requirements:

Official score report from the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) is required for admission into this program.

International Student Requirements:

International MAT students must have proof of English level proficiency through either the TOEFL, IELTS, or ELS Level 112 scores. In addition, you must provide an I-134 Affidavit of Financial Support Form. Documents, including bank statements and other financial documents dated within the past 30 days, that confirm you have the financial resources to study for a year at Plymouth State must be submitted to the College of Graduate Studies. You must also include a copy of your valid passport with your application materials. Finally, you must also submit official, notarized transcripts, verifying that you've completed at least a baccalaureate degree, which must be translated into English and evaluated for institutional equivalency.
