Program Description:
New textile products are leading a revolution in materials technology. In today's world, the field of textiles includes a wide range of fiber research and production from clothing to artificial arteries and spacecraft insulation. There are only a handful of programs in the country offering the hands-on experience essential to all aspects of the textile engineering field. State-of-the-art technology housed in Philadelphia University's School of Textiles and Materials Technology provides a distinct advantage for students to develop knowledge in the advanced fields of textile science and engineering and gain exposure to a wide range of professional possibilities. Graduates can opt to utilize their skills in a direct technical position, in textile research or as a manager in the diverse international textile industry. Students with undergraduate degrees in textile sciences, engineering and materials sciences are invited to pursue this program.
