Program Description:
The master of arts in religion is a specialization degree. Specializations are offered in Old Testament, New Testament, church history and Christian thought. Sixteen units of undergraduate upper division religion courses are required. In addition, twelve units of foreign language, which may be completed at either the graduate or undergraduate level: Hebrew for Old Testament specialization; Greek for New Testament specialization; or a language chosen in consultation with an adviser for the church history and Christian thought specializations. This program is designed for those who wish to pursue doctoral degrees or who seek teaching positions in public and private schools.
