Penn State's online graduate certificate program in reading instruction for special education (RISE) provides advanced training in effective reading instruction for teachers of upper elementary and secondary students with special learning needs and will help you to earn graduate credits, network with colleagues, and earn Pennsylvania Act 48 hours and meet Bridge requirements.
Penn State's reading instruction for special education program includes 3 distance education courses. They are offered via DVD and customized course materials and supplemental online activities. The courses are designed so that you can complete the work from your home or office, making the program convenient and accessible for you as a working professional. Communication and interaction with instructors is maintained mainly through e-mail and Web-based message boards.
