M.S.-Accounting, CPA Preparation
Program Description:
The purpose of this course of study is to provide candidates with a conceptual and analytical foundation that will qualify them for a career as a CPA. Upon completion of the program, graduates will have achieved the required accounting academic qualifications for admission to the CPA examinations in New York State. The program stresses the following: conceptual understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, application of conceptual knowledge of accounting, understanding of generally accepted auditing standards and procedures, understanding of legal and ethical principles and recognizing their implications in accounting situations. The student's undergraduate/graduate transcripts will be reviewed in order to determine if any additional credits are needed to meet State CPA requirements.
