Qualifying Certificate in Psychology
Format: Campus
Program Description:
The Qualifying Certificate in Psychology is designed to enable students with no previous knowledge of psychology in higher education to acquire sufficient knowledge and skills to study at level 2/3 (second or third year of full-time study) in a UK university.
Specifically, the certificate is offered as an entry qualification for the Oxford Brookes University Graduate Diploma in Psychology, but it also meets the entry requirements for other universities' psychology conversion courses (60 CATS credits of undergraduate psychology modules). You will study research methods and statistics for psychology, foundations of experimental psychology, developmental and social psychology, and biological foundations of behaviour.
Research is fundamental to all the postgraduate programmes in Psychology; all members of the department are research active and we encourage you to become involved in our areas of research. We include aspects of research in all our programmes, and strive to provide high quality research for the real world. You will have the opportunity to work with staff who are at the forefront of international research.
Overseas student fees £3,980. International scholarships available. Accommodation guaranteed. Students who successfully complete the qualifying certificate, achieving average marks of 60% or above, are guaranteed an offer of a place on the Graduate Diploma in Psychology and are entitled to a 10% discount on the diploma fees if taken in the next academic year
International Student Requirements:
If English is not your first language you will be expected to provide evidence of proficiency in English (TOEFL score of at least 600, 100iBT or an IELTS score of 7.0).
