Program Description:

Founded little more than a decade ago, the World Trade Organisation is the cornerstone of worldwide economic relations. Its dispute settlement system is one of the few functioning obligatory dispute settlement mechanisms in the international community and it has had a significant impact on the development of international law. With the steady increase in international trade in goods and services, the role of the law of the WTO has risen correspondingly.
The LLM in WTO Law provides an opportunity to study the functioning of the WTO and the characteristics of its legal system. You will have the opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of international law as it applies to this specialist area and in particular of problems such as the role of human rights and social standards within WTO law.
Research is fundamental to our range of LLM programmes, and here at Oxford Brookes University we encourage our students to become involved. Oxford attracts high calibre researchers and academics from all over the world as well as those closer to home, so you will have the opportunity to regularly attend seminars and lectures given by visiting speakers who are recognised world experts in the field of law.
The university library has an impressive range of legal holdings covering UK, European and international material, and a dedicated law librarian. You will also have access to the University of Oxford's Bodleian Law Library. Full time overseas fees £10,710. International scholarships available. Accommodation guaranteed.
