LLM/PGDip

Program Description:

Public international law has traditionally been defined as the law that governs relations between states. Increasingly, however, non-state actors such as international organisations, individuals, transnational corporations and other business enterprises and peoples have been recognised as the bearers of rights or duties under international law.
The LLM in Public International Law aims to provide a theoretical and practical understanding of this complex and ever-changing international legal order. The modules offered provide opportunities to explore a range of issues, from international crime to corporate liability for human rights violations and the regulation of international trade.
One of a suite of LLM programmes offered the Law Department at Oxford Brookes, the LLM in Public International Law draws students from the UK, Europe and around the world.
Research is fundamental to our range of LLM programmes, and here at Oxford Brookes University we encourage our students to become involved. Oxford attracts high calibre researchers and academics from all over the world as well as those closer to home, so you will have the opportunity to regularly attend seminars and lectures given by visiting speakers who are recognised world experts in the field of law.
The university library has an impressive range of legal holdings covering UK, European and international material, and a dedicated law librarian. You will also have access to the University of Oxford's Bodleian Law Library. Full time overseas fees £10,710. International scholarships available. Accommodation guaranteed.
