Program Description:

Materials science is an interdisciplinary science with roots in many aspects of science andengineering. Reflecting this character, the materials science program at Oregon State Universityis spread over 9 departments in 3 colleges and there is no department of materials science.Rather, there is a Center for Advanced Materials Research and also a Master of Science inMaterials Science (MSMS). The MSMS is offered by the Graduate School and administered bythe Program Director for the University. The degree emphasizes a core competency in materialsscience followed by courses in either structural materials or in electronic and magnetic materials.
