Program Description:

The Masters of Arts program in Sociology at Ohio University prepares students for professional careers in both academic and applied settings. The degree candidate is required to take at least 50 hours of graduate level course work, to demonstrate competence at the Master's level in sociological theory and methods, and to show proficiency in other chosen areas of concentration. You may select either thesis or nonthesis option; the latter involves writing comprehensive examinations or a major paper.
