Program includes courses in most fields of earth sciences with special emphasis on aquatic chemistry, contaminant transport and remediation, and hydrogeology; economic geology, geochemistry, geochronology, isotope geology, igneous and metamorphic petrology; glacial and Quaternary geology, global climate and polar studies; paleomagnetism, surface and borehole geophysics; stratigraphy, biostratigraphy, macro- and micropaleontology, sedimentology, and marine geology; structural geology and tectonics; and x-ray crystallography and mineralogy.
