Program Description:
The Translational Plant Sciences Graduate Program (TPSGP) is a newly established 5-year Ph.D. program at the Ohio State University within the Center for Applied Plant Sciences (CAPS). This dynamic new program offers students a cutting-edge, interdisciplinary environment with themes of innovation and sustainability at its’ core. The program leverages the strengths of a powerful interdisciplinary group of participating faculty that span across multiple departments and colleges.
The TPSGP encompasses current themes of global agriculture and international academia-industry interaction while encouraging students to actively explore those areas. Students will spend three or more months experiencing Translational Plant Sciences in one of the following settings:
· Biotechnology Company
· International Research
· Intellectual Property
· Science Policy Organization
· Agricultural Extension
· Science Writing or Journalism
· Teaching Enhancement
This program is designed for exceptional and highly motivated students who have the ability to work independently within a supported environment and a drive and passion to do high impact work and become next-generation leaders in Global Agricultural Biotechnology.
