Program Description:

With a focus on clinical leadership in service and academic settings, OU's Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program means you'll excel as a practitioner at the highest level. You'll gain advanced training in research, theory, leadership, systems management and nursing informatics.
The DNP is the highest degree you can attain if you currently are a clinical nurse specialist (CNS), nurse practitioner (NP), nurse anesthesia (CRNA) or certified nurse midwife (CNM). If your master's program had a clinical focus, you will complete 32 credits and can finish the program with two years of full-time study. Exact course requirements will depend on your educational background.
If your master's degree did not have a clinical focus, you will need to complete 32 credits of DNP coursework plus required courses to complete a post-master's certificate in one of OU's clinical nursing specialty areas.
