Program Description:

The Master of Arts in English program increases your analytical skills and proficiency in the study of English and American literature and language. OU's curriculum is unique because it emphasizes major critical approaches rather than specialization within historical periods. You'll have opportunity for scholarly, pedagogical and creative application of these approaches to literature and language, and be prepared to enter a PhD program or to teach in secondary schools or community colleges.
