Program Description:
The Master of Science degree in mathematics will provide training for students in both the theory and application of mathematics. This degree is offered under either the comprehensive examination plan or the thesis plan. For the M.S. program in mathematics, a candidate must have completed at least 27 semester hours of undergraduate mathematics coursework at the level of calculus and above with a grade of C or better, and have at least a 3.0 grade point average in these courses. The 27 hours must include coursework in linear algebra, real analysis (advanced calculus), and either abstract algebra or mathematical statistics.
