Program Description:

The Educational Psychology department offers a Ph.D. program in the following emphases:
1.) Ph.D. in Educational Psychology - Counseling Psychology - A 109-hour program that prepares you to be function as an applied counseling psychologist, a trainer of other counselors or psychologists and/or as a researcher. This program meets the criteria of the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology and the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards.
2.)Ph.D. in Educational Psychology - School Psychology Emphasis - A 109-hour program that prepares you to be function as a well-rounded generalist in school psychology, a trainer of other school psychologists, and/or as a researcher. This program is fully approved by National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) through 2011 (first approved in 1998). This program also meets the criteria of the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology and the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards.

Accreditation:

The College of Education is a key member of the Professional Education Unit at Northern Arizona University, which is accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education. Accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA).

Official scores on the TOEFL exam, unless you are a native speaker of English. The university requires a minimum TOEFL of 80 (on the Internet-based test, 213 (on the computer-based test) or 550 (on the paper-based test). The TOEFL is waived for applicants who earned a bachelor's degree from a U.S. university. The minimum IELTS score is 7.0. Please note that you are exempt from this requirement if English is recognized as the official language of your country as determined by our office and the U.S. Department of State.
