Program Description:

The Master's in Education, Career and Technical Education degree program is designed to prepare you for a career in career and technical administration, secondary career and technical teaching, post-secondary career and technical education, or training and development in business and industry. You will take course work in five core areas: Career and Technical Education, Research, Education Foundations, Curriculum or Administration, and Education Psychology. You will also take coursework in a selected emphasis area. Three emphasis areas are offered: Administration, Teaching, or Educational Technology. There are many course options in all areas (except for the CTE core) to allow the degree to be flexible to meet the future goals of many diverse students. Your advisor can assist you putting together (and approving) a customized program of study that will prepare you for your growth in your current career or to meet your future goals. The degree has two options: Extended Coursework or a thesis option. Although students are required to pick one of these options the choice does not have to be made when admitted to the program. Many students wait to make their decision until after completing their required research class. Courses may be taken at any NAU Campus Location or Online. Most all courses are available online at least one semester during the year.
