Program Description:
The graduate program in journalism provides students with the practical and analytical skills needed for success in the challenging profession. Our combination of small classes, training and work experience prepares graduates for careers as reporters and editors at newspapers, magazines, online publications and the broadcast media. We offer three areas on concentration, research, professional and public policy.
Northeastern offers two Master's in Journalism. The professional track admits students with varying levels of media experience who seek the practical and analytical skills to succeed as reporters and editors. The research track provides working journalists with an opportunity for further study in journalism and related fields, and prepares them with the skills to teach journalism or work in a specialized beat.
