Program Description:
The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Northeastern University is home to an exciting interdisciplinary graduate program that leads to the M.A. or Ph.D. in Sociology. The scholarly interests of our faculty are diverse, and ongoing research projects range from quantitative analyses of inter-group attitudes to comparative and historical investigations of regional, national, and globally-based institutional changes. Within our graduate program, this diversity is organized around four overarching themes that represent key 'areas of concentration': globalization and international studies; urban affairs and community studies; gender studies; and social justice, conflict, and inequality.
The Department's interdisciplinary program draws broadly on Sociology and Anthropology, while allowing students to see connections to their areas of specialization. Further, the department's faculty has a wide range of substantive interests focused into the following:
Economic Sociology
