Program Description:
The College of Computer and Information Science offers students the opportunity to pursue studies in the broad field of computer science. We offer full-time and part-time programs leading to the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees that offer graduate students rich resources: a dynamic faculty, state-of-the-art technology support, wide-ranging research opportunities, and a challenging curriculum.
The Ph.D. in Computer Science equips you to conduct state-of-the-art research in computer science, either in academia or in industry. You will assimilate ideas and concepts from theoretical studies and from in-depth, hands-on design, and programming of both large time-sharing systems and single-user microcomputers. Your experience and dissertation qualify you for a range of high-end careers in the field.
The M.S. in computer science prepares you to work at organizations that design, develop, market, or utilize computing systems. You will learn to recognize and solve problems in the use of digital computers in business and engineering and in educational and research environments.
