Program Description:

Northeastern's Biotechnology program responds to regional and national needs for a stronger scientific workforce by preparing our students with the biotechnology expertise and professional skills they need to be immediately productive in industrial, governmental, and clinical settings.

To do so, graduate students attain a common core of knowledge with particular emphasis on integrating that knowledge across disciplinary boundaries. Specific track objectives provide students with didactic and practical knowledge:

-In genomics, proteomics, and gene expression analysis (Molecular Biotechnology)
-In drug discovery, development, and delivery (Pharmaceutical Biotechnology)
-In bioprocess development and optimization (Process Development)
