Program Description:

Located in NC State University's School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA), the Department of Public Administration offers the Master of Public Administration (MPA) and Ph.D. in Public Administration. The NASPAA-accredited and nationally-ranked MPA program stresses problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a strong emphasis on performance-based management. The department offers two graduate certificate programs, one in nonprofit management, the other in public policy. The Ph.D. program prepares students for careers in academic research and instruction. The faculty is recognized for its research productivity, regularly publishing in top field and subfield journals. The MPA and certificate programs accommodate both full-time and part-time students; the Ph.D. program strongly recommends full-time study.
