Program Description:
The Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering (MSAE) distance education program is designed for students with an undergraduate degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or a closely related field who wish to pursue a graduate degree in aerospace engineering. It is a 30 credit hour degree program that does not require a thesis, final oral exam or on-campus residency. The GRE requirement will be waived for distance students who have a BS engineering degree from an accredited institution.

NC State University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097; Telephone number 404-679-4501) to award associate's, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. SACS accredits the university as a whole.
Eligibility Requirements:
Prerequisites for admission to the MSAE degree program include an undergraduate degree in engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0. Students majoring in other fields may need to complete a number of undergraduate aerospace engineering courses prior to being accepted for admission.
The Graduate School requires that all international applicants take the TOEFL or IELS examination if they have not received a degree from a U.S. institution or completed one year of study in the United States, Canada or Great Britain. The program does not currently accept international students who reside outside the continental U.S.
