Program Description:
(For students who have earned an undergraduate degree in the field in which they plan to teach) The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) Program is a part of Norfolk State University's response to the need toprovide a high quality teacher preparation program for adults who have already earned a baccalaureate degree in one of the liberal arts. The curriculum offers a careful blending of classroom and laboratory instruction in pedagogy,on-the-job practice of teaching skills, and intensive study of academic content in the teaching fields.
