Program Description:
This programme is aimed at numerate graduates who wish to work in the international shipping, logistics and port industries. It provides you with the knowledge and skills relating to: shipping markets; logistics and supply chain management; investment appraisal; insurance; financial modelling and forecasting techniques; risk management; and international finance and capital markets. You take a selection of taught modules (100 credits) and undertake a dissertation (80 credits). Compulsory modules (70 credits) include: marine transport and economics; research skills; design and analysis of marine transport systems; financial risk management and shipping; marine liability insurance and law; shipping market analysis; and supply chain management. You also select a further 30 credits from other marine and management modules, including: marine production technology; marine transport business; ship performance; management and communications; human resource management; and the international safety management (ISM) code.
