M.S. - Digital Imaging and Design

Format: Campus

Program Description:

The Master of Science in Digital Imaging and Design, offered through NYU's Center for Advanced Digital Applications (CADA), prepares you to become an artist in demand in the digital media, entertainment, or design professions. The program immerses you in a multidisciplinary curriculum in which you experience a dynamic fusion of the arts in a professional production environment. Focusing on creative and technical problem solving, you learn what constitutes a production team, both large and small, in project-oriented classes. You also experience the relationships between producer and technical director in visual effects, designer and animator in motion graphics, and developer and artist in games. The M.S. in Digital Imaging and Design covers a broad spectrum of design, illustration, and production disciplines. The curriculum emphasizes digital production tools and techniques. You begin with core courses that investigate the theory, philosophy, and history of digital imagery. The remainder of your courses are electives that emphasize production in an advanced laboratory environment. As your skills grow, you pursue more advanced work in areas that match your particular creative process and industry focus.
