Program Description:
Parsons' School of Constructed Environments challenges students to grapple with forces shaping the world today: shifts in global and local ecological flows, changes in living patterns, growing economic disparities, excessive consumption, and increasing ethnic diversity. Architecture, interior, and lighting design students work with faculty and citizens of global communities to learn the skills of design engagement, integrated thinking, and urban practice in a collective effort to transform our cities into sustainable urban habitats, products, interiors, and buildings.

All degree programs at The New School are registered by the New York State Department of Education. The New School has been regionally accredited by Middle States Commission of Higher Education since 1960. Parsons The New School for Design has been accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD) since 1966. The Master’s program in Architecture has been accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board since 1994.
